Tools4ever adds Radius support to HelloID
Tools4ever, the leader in Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), expands the Multi-Factor Authentication functionality of the Cloud Single Sign-On (SSO) portal HelloID with RADIUS support. This expansion makes it possible to connect HelloID with any One-Time Password (OTP) client.
RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) is a client/server protocol for remote authorization and authentication, validating the end user’s login credentials against the organization’s Active Directory (AD) to enhance security for access to the local network (LAN). The addition of the RADIUS client to the SSO portal HelloID provides full support for Multi-Factor Authentication solutions such as One-Time Passwords that require extra authentication when users log onto the network. As RADIUS is a proven and widely used technology, this functionality is immediately available for any organization with RADIUS-enabled servers.
When an end-user logs in via the HelloID portal with the new RADIUS functionality, their credentials are validated against the organization’s Active Directory. Depending on the chosen access policy (time of the day, allowed IP address, geographic locations, etc.), additional verification is requested through a One-Time Password. Often, a smartphone app is available for this purpose. This is then tested via the RADIUS client in HelloID against the organization’s RADIUS server. Any RADIUS server, both within the network and in the cloud, can be configured via the HelloID management portal.
The addition of RADIUS to HelloID offers organizations that already have a One-Time Password solution, such as Security tokens, the ability to seamlessly integrate the Single Sign-On portal HelloID into the existing infrastructure. No adjustments to the network are required, and end-users do not need to switch OTP tokens
